The Secret And The Power

I just picked up The Power by Rhonda Byrne, thinking it would make a good gift for someone. She says she felt inspired to write this sequel to The Secret after answering several thousand reader letters, and that it contains the essence of everything she’s learned since then.

Based on this, I was surprised to find that it’s a very toned down version of The Secret, feeling much more like a prequel than a sequel. It’s actually a halfway decent book, but probably not what its readers would want. People who didn’t like The Secret won’t like The Power either, and people who did like The Secret will find The Power to be a very weak second act. Oh well.

Now, can you guess what “the power” is, the greatest force in the universe and the key to having everything you want? Hint: it’s not a genie, it’s not quantum physics, and it’s not really even the law of attraction. Go ahead, take a guess.

These days, I don’t really care about the secret or the law of attraction or our creative power (as I usually call it). It’s working anyway. And in my understanding, the power is not even personal.

Ultimately, there is only One Life. You, me, the tree, the desk, etc. are all temporary manifestations of One Life. It would be strange if the One Life does NOT manifest what it really desires.

If I must say one key to this, it is to sync with this One Life (previously, I’ve used the term Higher Self – it’s just more expanded idea). There is my ego and this One Life. The ego is a fake identity. The ego wants things out of fear, and whether you get it or not, you won’t be content — for long. Rather, just flow with life.

    Blessings,

@ Akemi, I’ve fallen behind in my blog reading, but it sounds like I need to catch up on yours and read about the One Life. It’s always interesting to read about your hot off the press terms!

I have no idea. Is it self-discovery?

  4. Hunter Nuttall Says:

@ Ari, good guess. The answer in the book is a 4-letter word beginning with “L.”
