@ Tracy, about 2-3% of right-handers do that, but I’ve heard different stories about what it means as far as speech processing goes. Anyway, if you want to use that as an excuse to use lots of !!!!!!, I think that’s OK.

Interesting! I am very strongly right handed, in fact I have a difficult time doing much of anything with my left hand. The odd thing is, when I write or draw, I hold the pencil like a lefty with my hand hooked in (so I always have ink or pencil smudged on the side of my hand). I’ve been told this means that although I’m right handed, I process speech with my right hemisphere. I am taking that to mean I have a pass on excessive use of exclamation points.

This brings back memories of years of teachers and parents trying to get me to hold the pencil the right way (in both senses!).

@ cd, I know what you mean about Einstein. At least you can definitely count him among the introverts…your other “my own!”

I hadn’t noticed Seinfeld writing left-handed. But I did notice James Cromwell playing George H. W. Bush in “W,” correctly writing left-handed but making the apparent mistake of boxing right-handed.

@ Paula, yes, a lot of lefties become mixed-handed because it’s easier to adapt than to resist. I didn’t really mind the desks…until I tried a left-handed desk and saw how much easier it was! And yeah, I love Obama being a lefty.

As a lefty, there are many things I do, that would make me probably a mixed handed person. Since there were so few things made for lefties as I was growing up, it was just a matter of survival to adapt to use your right hand more.

The only thing I hated was the desk that was shaped for the right handed person and I’d have my arm hanging out while I tried to write.

And now we have a left handed president, I love it.

Awww… Einstein… I wanted to count him as one of “my own..”

I still have Seinfeld though – I always notice lefties when they write!
