@ Akemi, now I have to find out if they knew about the bottle when they gave it to me, or they just thought it was a normal drink.

@ Ron, yeah, I guess it's something for people to tell their grandchildren!

@ Bamboo Forest, when you're ready, the bottle will appear!

@ Marelisa, I never had the same experience with Coke or Pepsi. I guess their inventors hadn't read your ebook!

@ MiscBytes, yup, there's that benefit too. It's hard to overindulge on these.

This also sounds like a great drink for those of us who drink too many sodas each day. Perhaps if we had to work a bit more to get it open (and most likely pay a lot more too), we'd slow down on the soft drinks! :)

Hi Hunter: That definitely does sound like a rite of passage. Patience, perseverance, and lateral thinking, all from one soft drink. :-) Thank you for the mention.

"If a soft drink can teach patience, persistence, and lateral thinking, then what other learning experiences might be hiding in plain sight, disguised as problems?"

Perhaps them all.

That sounds like one hell of a bottle of soda. I'm much more inclined to read about your experience than to buy this bottle and have the experience myself.

Gee-whiz Hunter you put in some major work on that bottle. I think I should be able to find that product in Chicago. That sounds like a great conversation piece.

Dear Hunter,

Don't you know there was a reason why your friend gave you the bottle of ramune?

"a pig, a pumpkin, a watermelon, a fan, a flower, a life preserver, and a UFO" Oh, isn't this SOOOO Japanese!?

I think ramune is available at World Market stores. And yes, they are popular exactly for the reason you point out -- the fun of opening it and drinking it with the marble in the way. Or the fun of watching someone do so.

Thank you for a good laugh. I enjoyed this post so much.
