Are you a frustrated blogger? Are you spending way too much time marketing your blog, with little results to show for it? Do you wish there were an easier way?
You’ve probably heard lots of good things about Twitter, but maybe it still seems like a waste of time to you. I sure used to think so. Who cares what everyone else is doing?
But that was then. Today, I’m a converted tweeter. Not only do I love using Twitter, but it’s my #3 traffic source (after search engines and StumbleUpon). I’ve cut back drastically on other forms of blog marketing, because Twitter works better for me in a number of ways.
If you’re one of the many bloggers who…
- Doesn’t see why everyone loves Twitter so much
- Thinks Twitter is for telling people what you had for breakfast
- Doesn’t think they have time for Twitter
- Thinks Twitter will destroy their productivity
- Doesn’t know why Twitter needs to be part of your traffic growth strategy
- Thinks Twitter is just for social media geeks
- Or even if you’ve never heard of Twitter until now
…then Why Bloggers Need Twitter is for you! Grab your free copy right now, and learn why you can’t afford not to be on Twitter.
And for those of you who are already Twitter aficionados, feel free to leave your Twitter link in the comments. Tell us why you like Twitter so much, and why we should follow you. Oh, and follow me at @hnuttall!

I like twitter because it’s a simple and casual way to stay in touch with others, particularly those interested in what you have to offer.

Hi Hunter.
This eBook is full of material that is relevant and fitting for bloggers wanting to expand their traffic sources. All the examples and pictures make the concepts current, and your point are brought about clearly.
The way you describe Twitter as a value stream sets it into a different frame of mind for those who see it as a set of unconnected thoughts with low usefulness. Also, your various retorts to the lines that people say about Twitter usage save the need to have to explain each of them at a later time when they are asked about in a comment or tweet.
The rules you added in near the end set people on the right tone, and are well-placed to keep people from becoming annoying Twitter users.

I’ve definitely been in the ‘don’t see the value yet’ category, but my efforts have been admittedly lame…this is a great offering thanks!

Awesome Hunter! I just downloaded and will add it to my reading list.
I didn’t like Twitter AT ALL at first, but I knew I needed to at least listen to the crowd long enough to give it a second chance. My second go round has been far more fruitful. I totally see the value and have enjoyed my minutes spent there.
Twitter will eat us all eventually, we may as well go willingly.

After only a couple of weeks on Twitter I have already done business in 3 countries as a direct result. It’s definately not just for letting people know what you had for breakfast! @richer_image

I get insane traffic from twitter, but more importantly, I get opportunities and meet all kinds of great people. My current business partner and I met on twitter, so how’s that for a great example?
If you’re blogging but not using twitter, it’s like everyone else is watching TV shows you don’t get and talking about them all around you. You keep feeling like you’re missing out on something.

Relationships is the name of the blogging game and Twitter does it better than anyone. When we can connect with people who we like and like us then we are both more likely to share each other’s content. Experts say that 75% of people who purchase or buy something will do it because of Word of Mouth advertising. The more people willing to let their followers on Twitter know who we are the more likely they will join our community.
Twitter is my number 4 traffic source, but I’d like to raise this even higher. I downloaded the book and will read it soon. Thanks!

Twitter is one of the most versatile online tools ever created. An ebook like this must be pure gold for everybody who’s interested in keeping an online presence.
As for my Twitter experience, I’ve already been in the number game, downshifted it, recovered, and now I’m better.
Good luck with your book

I like twitter because I have been introduced to many people I would have never crossed paths with.
I have only recently started using twitter – hoping to see it explode!

I still feel like I’m drowning in a raging river when I’m logged into Twitter, but it may be that I should unfollow a few who are just spamming so I can see the real people. TweetDeck helps. Downloading your ebook now!

Thanks, guys. The response so far has been terrific – in the comments, in emails, on Twitter, and on other social media sites. Twitter clearly has a lot of fans, and even many of those who aren’t quite on board yet seem cautiously optimistic. Thanks for the support, and for your interest in Twitter.

Color me curious, Hunter: You say Twitter is your third most popular traffic source. How much of the traffic is a direct response to your tweeting/directing people to your blog vs people finding it organically? For instance, if you don’t tweet certain posts, do you see less per-post traffic than other posts you do tweet about?

@ Ari, I don’t track my stats closely enough to know how much of my Twitter traffic comes from where exactly. I tweet all my posts, so that’s not a variable in the equation. I can say that specifically requesting RTs when I tweeted this post was extremely effective. However, I prefer to save “please RTs” for very rare occasions.

Hi Hunter,
As you know, it was because of the guest post you did on my blog I became convinced I needed to give Twitter a try. I LOVE it. The micro blogging platform is ideal for staying in touch with our fellow bloggers and if we don’t have time to visit their blogs, we can still communicate.
I’m off to download your book. Based on your previous ebooks, I know this will be phenomenal, as well.
Thank you!

@ Barbara, I’m so glad you found value in Twitter. I was surprised too that I ended up liking it so much. But micro blogging definitely has its advantages.

I love Twitter because, in addition to crating meaningful community, it’s helped me discover my voice. I was in the process of changing life-work directions when I started on Twitter. No blog, no web site. At the same time I was discovering my voice for this new work, I was building a Presence and making connections. Plus, I was having fun! And still am.
I invite you to check out my profile at http://www.twitter.com/luminousheart. If it seems like a good fit, please do follow. Best way to connect is send me an @ reply.
Happy tweeting!
