A long time back, I ordered Lorelle VanFossen’s book Blogging Tips: What Bloggers Won’t Tell You About Blogging. For over a year, it remained under a pile of other books I haven’t read, until I finally got around to it. I wish I had done so sooner, because it would have been more helpful to me back then.
Much like ProBlogger: Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income, this book is not going to give an experienced blogger a lot of stuff they haven’t seen before. But for somebody who’s new to blogging or thinking about taking the plunge, this is a great way to get hundreds of tips covering many aspects of blogging, all in one place.
Blogging since 1994, Lorelle has seen it all. If you need a crash course in blogging, this is a great resource.

OK, Hunter, I’ll bite. If my recent blog post title below is indicative, I probably don’t need to buy either book. So what’s in them? No teasers or summaries?

@ Ari, as a social media strategist, you surely already know a lot about blogging, and therefore don’t need these books. As for what’s in Lorelle’s book, my link goes straight to her outline, as well as sample chapters. I don’t have much to add beyond what she’s already said. Just reducing the reading load on this Memorial Day weekend!

Hunter-
As I’m sure Ari would agree (at least, I think)… Online busines is a constant education. I spent the weekend catching up on a few resources containing both tech and business strategies for blogging, and boy do I need to make a few changes.
Thanks for highlighting this. Keep em coming.

@ Travis, constant education is right. Sometimes we even forget about things we know we should be doing, so a little refresher can help.

Thanks for the kind words about my book, and I”m so glad it helps. A lot of people love the book as they are beginners and need hand holding, which the book provides. It’s also one of the very first books on how to blog, and the only one written as a checklist, so you can read it in bits and pieces and check things off as you go.
For the advanced blogger, it’s a great kick in the ass, as I’m sure you are finding out.
The book continues to sell very well and people are really finding it useful.
Thanks!

@ Lorelle, thanks for stopping by! I know how busy you are because I read that post about everyone who just wants a couple minutes of your time, so I appreciate that you had a couple minutes to say hi. I can see why your book sells so well. It’s a very efficient way to learn from your many years of experience.
