Tell Me Your Myers-Briggs Type, Get A Free Link

December 7th, 2008           Email this article to a friend Email this article to a friend

I want to put together a list of people’s Myers-Briggs types, so that we can see who has the same personality type as us. Tell me your type, and get a free link on one of these 16 pages. (I just whipped up something quick, so the look may change.)

ISTJ ISFJ INFJ INTJ ISTP ISFP INFP INTP ESTP ESFP ENFP ENTP ESTJ ESFJ ENFJ ENTJ

In order to avoid creating a link farm, I’ll have to use “nofollow” links, meaning it won’t help your Google PageRank. However, it will still be a clickable link that can send people your way. People who might think you’re cool because they’re the same type.

To participate, just leave a comment below.

- The name you use can include branding or identification words, but it should start with your real name. If you use an alias instead of your real name online for privacy reasons, that’s OK. I reserve the right to drop spammy-looking keywords (“Make Money Online”) or names with no last name (I don’t want a whole bunch of anonymous Bobs).

- Your URL (optional) should point to actual content, not just an ad.

- Tell us what your Myers-Briggs type is. You can’t say it depends; you have to pick one. Don’t know your type? Read The Personality Puzzle.

    Hi there,

I use Scribbles as my online alias for privacy, but I promise you I’m a real person. I’m an INFJ – pretty much textbook :D

    Hi

I would want to say “depends” because I’ve taken the test a number of times and it seems to change occasionally. But I’ll go with the latest result:
    INTJ

    Hi, Hunter!
    I’m definitely an INFJ.
My husband and I recently wrote our own blog article on this subject:

Here, we compare the MB types with the Classic Fantasy-Role-Playing Archetypes of Fighter, Wizard, Paladin, and Rogue.

ESFJ seems to be the one that fits me best, although a third party testing me may disagree.

We’ll go with that one for now though. :)

I’m not sure what that tells me, other than I get motivated and at my best around other people. :)

ENTP all the way, to the point that someone said, “Dude. They should’ve rewritten their description and just put ‘See James Chartrand’.”

And I’ll note that I’m the only one here so far! YAY!

Side note, Hunter. Are you going to put up quick descriptions on your page for people who don’t know what the letters mean?

I have read that the results of these tests can vary throughout a person’s life, and I have seen it myself.

At times I’ve moved between INFP and INFJ, but the last time I took the test I was INFP.

So put me down for INFP :)

Hmm, I’ll join in. When I was first tested as a child I was an INFP, but later I was an INFJ (and I’ve read that the P/J preference develops later, plus I was closer to the middle on this scale). So INFJ it is.

    Hi Hunter,

Wow! The N’s are overwhelming. Thats to be expected though with bloggers. We are mostly the intuitive type. Especially in the personal development field!

Mine? Oh, I am an ENTP! Ive taken that test a billion times and have tested many other people. I love Myers-Briggs and would consider myself an expert on it if anyone has any deeper questions.

Sorry James there are more of us. I know our egos fill up a room quick but you also gotta watch out for that ENTJ Daniel over there. ;-)

Anyhow, I really do love Myers-Briggs and would love discussing it further…

  30. James Chartrand - Men with Pens Says:

@ Jeremy – I’ve been watching everyone’s letters go by thinking, “Geez, am I an anamoly or something? Where are the people like me??”

Then I consoled myself by the fact that I’m so unique (pretending I didn’t see Daniel, of course) that I was a rare breed.

Now you’ve spoiled that. Unless we team together and plot to overtake all the Is and Js out there…

  34. Hunter Nuttall Says:

Thanks, everyone. I put your names up, and if you were looking to see what the most popular type was, INFJ and INFP are tied with 5, followed by INTJ and ENFP with 4. I’m sure we’ll get many more responses over time, as search traffic and my internal links send more people there.

People are saying they’ve taken the test multiple times, and they keep getting different results. Yup, that happens. I only took the official one once, and it correctly typed me as an INTP. But I took some online tests, and got ISTJ and INTJ. Even the official test isn’t all that accurate, so the best judge of your own type is you (the official guidelines actually say that). When you spend enough time around this stuff, your type becomes obvious.

@ James, I’m not sure if you mean put up quick descriptions on this post, or on the 16 pages I set up.

My concern with telling people what the letters mean is that people who don’t already know their type would make a quick guess, and be wrong. All 8 words are misleading, and it’s very easy to get your type wrong if you’re not well informed. For three years I thought I was an ISTJ, and that was after attending a full day MBTI workshop. Now I know that I’m obviously an INTP, but I never would have gotten that just from knowing what the letters mean.

  35. James Chartrand - Men with Pens Says:

@ Hunter – No, I meant more of a “People like James are energizer bunnies out to conquer the world” kind of quick and dirty summary :)

  36. Hunter Nuttall Says:

@ James, well, the ENTP page says their motto is “One Exciting Challenge After Another.” If I start getting too creative, I may inadvertently offend the types I’m less fond of. :)

  37. James Chartrand - Men with Pens Says:

@ Hunter – Well now, that’s a good motto. I’m going to have to use that, I’m afraid :)

  49. Flitcraft Says:

I’m an INTP, almost reluctantly. I only say “reluctantly” because I often “wish” I were an ISTP. If, however, one’s tertiary function begins to develop from young adulthood to middle age (when the inferior function begins to develop), my tertiary function being S actually makes perfect sense. So INTP it remains. I am also consistently confirmed in this conclusion by my (so they tell me) facility with language and tendency, the older I get, to get weirder and weirder.

  50. Hunter Nuttall Says:

@ Flitcraft, c’mon, don’t apologize for being an INTP! Weird is OK!

  51. Flitcraft Says:

I hear you. And I noticed you’re One Of The Few as well. One of the things I have learned, though, is to keep my mouth shut more often, as it is difficult to make oneself understood to anyone who is not AT MINIMUM an NT (and I’m just talking about views on life, being, reality — I don’t even really get in to mathematics and the sciences and the like). And, as you say, the ultimate issue for me is COMPETENCY, especially intellectual competency.
