Today I’m a substitute teacher (guest poster) at BloggingWithoutABlog.com. This is a great blog to read if you’re new to blogging and want to learn the ropes in a supportive environment.
My post is called Twitter – Social Media’s Hidden Gem. There’s no shortage of social media platforms out there: Digg, StumbleUpon, Mixx, Reddit, Facebook, etc. Do we really need another one? And isn’t Twitter just a medium for sharing the dumbest things you can think of? I used to think so. Read my guest post and see why I changed my mind.
This post is mainly aimed at people who are considering signing up for Twitter, and people who have recently joined but aren’t sure what the point is. Since Barbara has more respect for her readers’ attention spans than I do, she requires guest posts to be under 500 words. I managed to get mine down to 499!
There’s quite a bit of drama going on over there. Stop by to see who has received detention, and who I’ve falsely accused of shooting a spitball.

Hi Hunter – Isn’t it fun being a substitute teacher (guest writer) on Blogging Without A Blog? You never know who will start “acting out”.
I just checked the word count. After I added the intro and credits, we’re now up to 637, but that hasn’t stopped the “class members” (commenters) from having their say.
BTW: You did a fantastic job on the post and even though you have to deal with an occasional unruly “student”, you’ll keeping the class in line.
I’m betting the class will vote to have you come and substitute again.

@ Barbara, I’ve learned which students have the potential to cause trouble, so I can keep a closer eye on them. Wow, up to 637 words now? That’s ironic when the topic is a platform with a 140 character limit. And we have 34 comments so far, so I guess it worked. I’ll continue to keep an eye on the class. It’s not too late for someone else to get detention!

Perhaps the next post should be 140 characters.
Keep it simple.

@ Ari, I’d rather keep it useful. Twitter’s good for some things, but it’s no replacement for thought.
