@Hunter: I think it’s also about hope. Even if he’s not going to start exercising and eating right at this moment, there’s always the possibility that at some point he might decide to do these things and then he’ll be fine. I think that humans as a species are pretty weird

Hi Hunter – Tim is so sane – people from Derbyshire can’t help having that air of weirdness about them. At least he had the sense to leave the UK to live in sunny Florida.

I think some of it is to do with control. If you realise you have the power to do something for yourself – you feel more in control.
