Hi, Rafael. I didn't see the point of using RSS at first, when I was only reading a couple of blogs. When I started reading more and more blogs though, it quickly became essential. A lot of people still subscribe to blogs by email, but RSS is really much better, and not very complicated once you get used to it. Let me know how it goes.

Hunter,

I just found your blog and I am already hooked. This post on RSS is not only enlightening, but quite compelling. I am convinced to start actively using RSS. Very good job!

Great Ian, I'm glad you liked it. At first I didn't understand what was wrong with just visiting blogs directly. But then I started reading more blogs and it quickly became way too difficult to manage. Once you start using an RSS reader, you'll wonder how you ever did without it.

Hunter,

That's a really useful post. It's changed my perspective. I've been trying to force myself to break the habit of just typing in the addresses of blogs and going direct.

It wastes an awful lot of time.

I'll start on Monday!

Thanks again.

Catherine, I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who don't understand RSS. I thought that if I just wrote a post about it, then it would clear up a lot of confusion. RSS isn't very complicated; it's just unfamiliar to many people.

Hi Hunter - thanks for mentioning my post.

This is a great post on what RSS is and how it works. I wish someone had written it a few months ago, because I didn't understand it for ages.

I subscribe to too many blogs, but I like to watch out for interesting headlines and breaking news. But, I'm controlling my reading by not visiting each of them every day.

CatherineL's last blog post..Authenticity in Business and Other Lies
